This November 23, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, turns 62 years old. He is a man who year after year grows with the people, remains firm and resistant to the economic war promoted by the United States government.

He was born in the city of Caracas on November 23, 1962. During his adolescence, he was a member of the Socialist League. At a very young age, he began working as a Metrobús driver for the Metro de Caracas transportation company and shortly after that he founded the union of the workers of this institution (SITRAMECA).

After the civic-military rebellion of February 4, 1992, after the historic “for now” of Commander Hugo Chávez, Maduro joined the Bolivarian Revolutionary Movement 200 (MBR-200).

He belonged to the national management of the MBR-200 between 1994 and 1997, and he was also the founder of the Bolivarian Workers' Force (FBT), an organization of which he was also the national coordinator.

He was a member of the Congress of the Republic of Venezuela from January 23, 1999 to December 15 of the same year, becoming a constituent between the months of August 1999 and January 2000.

After his poor state of health, Commander Chávez, on December 8, 2012, instructed the Venezuelan people to elect Nicolás Maduro as President of the Republic.

On Sunday, April 14, the National Electoral Council (CNE) called for presidential elections, in which the socialist candidate Nicolás Maduro Moros was elected with 50.75% of the votes and took office as the first workers' and Chavista president on April 19, 2013, the day he was sworn in by Chávez and the Venezuelan people to continue the legacy and fight for the peace and sovereignty of the country.

In 2018, he was re-elected with more than 60% of the votes.

In addition, in July of this year he was re-elected President of the Republic by the People. The National Electoral Council (CNE) announced that Maduro obtained 6 million 408 thousand 844 votes (51.95%).

Today, President Nicolás Maduro celebrates with his people one more year of life, and is committed to continuing to vindicate social struggles and the unification of Popular Power.
