Haiti: Gang members murdered police officers

Last Sunday, the National Union of Haitian Police (SYNAPOHA) reported that three agents of the National Police's Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG) were killed in Sans Fil, Delmas 18, after being ambushed by members of armed gangs.

The victims were identified as Fermetus Emelin, Piton Wilkens Jean junior and Clovis Peterson, who were traveling in an armored vehicle that was set on fire during the brutal attack.

According to the union, the person responsible for the murder, former cop Jimmy Cherizier, alias Barbecue, leader of the armed coalition known as 'Vivre Ensemble '(Living Together), has attributed himself to the crime in a video and has published heartbreaking images of burned and mutilated bodies.
