The Venezuelan Salomón Rondón proved that he is in the prime of his soccer career, scoring a double to secure Pachuca's victory over Columbus Crew 3-0, in the final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Rondón was essential for the Tuzos to win their sixth crown, taking the honors as champion, goal leader and Best Player (MVP) of Concachampions.

In the final match, the Venezuelan played the entire game and in the 12' and 67' minutes he scored two goals, to ensure the victory of his team.

The Venezuelan was the top scorer in the continental tournament, with 9 goals in 7 games played, all starting.

“I feel very happy, these moments fill me with emotion, they take me to my school in Catia in my native country, playing on a dirt court, today I am champion of this edition, I am really happy,” said Rondón, in statements to the post-match media.

He also said that the merit goes to the whole team, “a beautiful job since the tournament began, we have been superior and today we see the results, we deserve this championship”.

Pachuca won his sixth crown in CONCACAF, after those won in 2002, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2017.

The title certified Pachuca's qualification to the 2025 Club World Cup and the nascent FIFA Intercontinental Cup, which will be played in December 2024.
