Three years after its creation, the Great Venezuela Women's Mission managed to serve more than two million 647,000 women throughout the country through its first summit focused on the protection of health and life.
The information was released by the Minister of Popular Power for Women and Gender Equality, Yelitze Santaella, during an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), where she highlighted the social impact of this State policy aimed at the integral well-being of the female population.
“The Great Venezuela Women's Mission celebrates three years with a clear and defined public policy for the direct care of our women. Despite the blockade and the measures of siege against the country, there is a firm commitment on the part of the rulers, doctors, nurses and all the health personnel who work in emblematic programs such as Humanized Childbirth,” he emphasized.
Regarding the second vertex, focused on education for women's empowerment, Santaella specified that the program has allowed the training of more than 25,000 high school graduates through the Rivas Mission and more than 21,000 graduates through the Robinson Mission.
In addition, the third vertex (Women Economic and Independent Subjects) highlighted the leading role of the female sector in the recovery of the national economy. “Venezuelan women have contributed to lifting the country's productive apparatus through their innovation, effort and creative capacity,” she said.
For its part, the fourth vertex, aimed at the eradication of gender-based violence, includes the deployment of more than 25,400 promoters in more than 17,000 communal territories, in addition to the installation of specialized courts throughout the country to guarantee the right to a life free from violence.
Finally, Santaella pondered the organization of Popular Power and the leadership that women have achieved today, highlighting women's participation of 40% in the different decision-making bodies.
“These achievements demonstrate the existence of an efficient State policy that has a positive impact on Venezuelan women, who have been a fundamental pillar in overcoming adversities and strengthening the social fabric of the homeland,” he concluded.
