During a contact with the entity's radio network, the governor of Monagas, Ernesto Luna, reported that they are still deployed to serve three of the municipalities affected by Hurricane Beryl.

According to information from the PSUV, Luna indicated that the municipalities of Acosta, Caripe and Cedeño were the most affected by the passage of this category 5 hurricane.

In this regard, in the Acosta municipality, six sectors are being serviced, based in the parishes of San Antonio and San Francisco, which suffered the effects of the heavy rains that occurred since the dawn of Tuesday and which caused the flooding of the Colorado and Guarapiche rivers.

He explained that the agencies that make up the different security and protection bodies assist 20 families due to the loss of property in the Villa Coral sector, carry out damage assessment in the homes of three family groups and evacuated a family that was affected after the flooding of the house where they live in the El Naranjal sector, of the San Antonio parish; while in the San Francisco parish, in the community of Las Delicias, the Government and Mayor's Office provide support to three families.

He indicated that the Cocollar sector is also being addressed, where drinking water service was suspended due to the damage caused by the flooding of the Cocollar River and they are alert and monitored in the face of the undermining of 40 percent of the dispensary.

“We are going to respond with the speed that each of the municipalities affected by this climate phenomenon deserves to the situation. We will do the same together with the Fire Department, Civil Protection, State Police and the different mayors,” he said.

Regarding the situation presented by the neighboring state of Sucre, Luna expressed her solidarity with the families in mourning and hit by the ravages of this storm. “We are going to support them with drinking water and medicines. Not only are we waiting, we will also give our contribution,” he said.
