A total of 2,695 inhabitants of the Terrazas de San Ignacio sector, in Alvarenga de Charallave, Cristóbal Rojas municipality in Miranda state, have a regular supply of water after the delivery of two water works financed through the National Popular Consultation.

The governor of the entity Elio Serrano, together with the mayor Yuhismar Hernández, delivered the Alvarenga pumping station and the Vita water treatment plant, according to the Última Noticias website.

He stressed that the pumping station has two 15 HP motors that overcome the topographic slope of the area and guarantee direct pipeline service to families in 12 communities in the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda commune.

“The rehabilitation of the pumping room is an important achievement for the organized community in this sector. That is why we invite them to participate massively and with joy in the National Popular Consultation this October 18, so that, in a democratic, participatory and proactive way, they can choose their priority projects,” he said.

Serrano specified that the global investment of the pumping station reached 70,000 dollars, provided by the national, regional and municipal executive, together with the Ministry of Popular Power for Venezuelan Water Care (HIDROVEN), the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) and the labor force of the popular power. The electrical adaptation, maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, control panels and construction of the shed were carried out in 15 days.

He also explained that the Vita water treatment plant, promoted by the youth of the commune, will store 2,400 liters of raw water and will have a monthly filling capacity of 1,800 bottles to serve 1,098 families from 12 communal councils, “who will be able to transform the vital liquid, coming from natural sources, into a resource suitable for human consumption.”

During the day, the authorities also inaugurated a Type II Popular Clinic in the María Gabriela Chávez urban area of the Alvarenga sector, which will provide primary care in general medicine and pediatrics to more than 2,600 people.

In the activity, Serrano made a commitment to incorporate a complete dental unit with qualified personnel to reinforce health prevention in the sector. “We are betting that our people are ready to prevent the disease and promote health,” he said.

The governor called on the 131 communes of the Valles del Tuy to actively participate in the next communal election day to choose priority projects in their sectors.
