The governments of the Russian Federation and the Arab Republic of Egypt held a high-level diplomatic meeting to accelerate preparations aimed at setting up the Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal Special Economic Zone, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening bilateral economic and commercial cooperation.

According to information provided by Telesur, the evaluation of the project was carried out by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, and the special representative of the Russian presidency for cooperation with the BRICS countries, Maxim Oreshkin, who focused the agenda on the selection of the industrial developer and on attracting investment.

During the talks, both delegations examined the prospects for expansion in key areas such as heavy industry, automotive manufacturing, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, sectors aimed at promoting technology transfer and the adaptation of knowledge to local conditions.

The Russian Federation's industrial zone in the Egyptian maritime artery seeks to consolidate itself as a regional logistics and industrial reference center, providing participating companies with preferential access to markets in the Middle East, Africa and other emerging economies.
