The governor of the state of Miranda, Elio Serrano, and the mayor of Santa Teresa del Tuy, Rayner Pulido, led the formal lighting of the new lighting system at the Martín Rada stadium.

During the reinauguration, the governor stressed that the works carried out respond to the joint work between the Regional Executive and the municipality to expand sports in the jurisdiction, while calling on the community to keep the spaces in good condition.

“Sport is life, it's health and it's prevention for our youth. We are making an effort to coordinate with the mayor's office so that our children and athletes have high spaces, but it is necessary for the organized community, the athletes and the people of Santa Teresa to take care of and maintain this venue for future generations,” he said.

Finally, he congratulated the town for this achievement and ratified its commitment to continue recovering sports facilities in the state.

For his part, the mayor explained that the work included the recovery of the playing field, the conditioning of the stands and the general beautification of the operational areas.

“We don't stop. We are reclaiming the field, improving lighting and beautifying each area so that our athletes have a decent space. We're working today for tomorrow's big leagues,” Pulido emphasized.

“The holiday included an exhibition match with the participation of professional baseball figures such as Francisco Buttó, Víctor Gárate, José Duarte, Daniel Mayora and Keider Montero, a native of the town and the Detroit Tigers pitcher, who sent greetings to the people of Teresense celebrating the rescue of the historic sports venue,” the Government reported.
