Government of La Guaira delivered more than 1,200 units of insulin

From the Dora Mercedes González Comprehensive Diagnostic Center in La Atlántida, Catia la Mar parish, the launch of the “Insulin Route: Where Together We Come to You” was launched, for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Urimare and Catia la Mar parishes with the arrival of about 1,200 units of this important chemical hormone in different presentations.
The single health authority, Nélare Bermúdez, indicated that it is a supply of insulinANPH, Cristalina and 70/30; in addition to RinSapen II with syringes included for complete care for patients who require this type of treatment.
“This has been an instruction issued by President Nicolás Maduro through the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, also responding through the 1x10 of Good Governance for the health of our people and we thank Governor José Alejandro Terán for ensuring that in La Guaira this guideline is complied with for the benefit of diabetic patients,” he said.
In turn, he explained that in La Guaira there are more than 2,500 registered diabetic patients, so 24 health centers (with the exception of outpatient clinics that do not have spaces to maintain the cold chain) were equipped through the Insulin Route Plan to guarantee the reach of the medication to each of them.
“This is a great advance in public health, since treatment for diabetes is even around 350 dollars and our president Nicolás Maduro today makes it possible for diabetic patients to have free access to this important medication,” he said.
He also indicated that to opt for this benefit, patients must only present their identity card, prescriptions and medical report and also carry a cellar with ice to maintain the cold chain for the preservation of insulin.
He also indicated that the state has the Catia La Mar Diabetic Foot Unit, in the Dora Mercedes González CDI, and in the La Guaira parish in the La Guaira Outpatient Clinic for the treatment of diabetic patients with lower limb injuries.
