Around 19,000 families in the Hugo
Chávez urban development, located in the parish of Urimare, La Guaira, will have drinking
water after the activation of the third extraction well in El Campito.
The work was carried out by the
Bolivarian Government, through the State Government and the Ministry
of Water Care, in order to guarantee the vital liquid.
“We are adding 32 liters of water per second to Hugo Chávez
urban planning with the activation of the third water well in El Campito and
reducing the cycle to 7 days. Thanks to President Nicolás Maduro, who allocated
the resources through the Community Government Fund,” said José
Alejandro Terán, Governor of the entity.
He also stressed that the actions are part of the Water Plan
for La Guaira, with which 34
concrete actions have been implemented, such as the recovery of pipes, the construction of new water intakes, the installation
of a water well, among others.
Through a press release from the Government, it
became known that in addition to this action, a second desalination plant is being installed in the Mare
Abajo sector, which will benefit more than 4,000 inhabitants of this coastal community.
In this regard, Minister Marco Torres said: “It's
important because we are moving from a production of 375,000 liters of water to
750,000 liters of water for this entire large organized community where not
only do more than 4,000 people live, but it is also a
beach tourist hub where many seasonal workers also come.”
