A total of 60 solid waste collection trucks were delivered by the governor of the state of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, to the Municipal Institute of the Environment (IMA) of the Mayor's Office of Valencia .
In this regard, the authority explained that these vehicles, with large capacity, have a modern system for filtering and containing leached waste, “preventing any leakage of polluting liquids during the process of collecting and transferring waste to garbage processing plants.”
In addition, Lacava asked the mayor, Dina Castillo, to initiate an in-depth investigation into the cost structure to adjust the rates charged for the waste collection service in the city of Valencia.
“If the rates do not match and do not correspond to that cost structure, they are adequate to charge what is fair,” he emphasized and recalled that the two previous presidents of the IMA are fugitives from justice after allegedly committing acts of corruption with the service.
