GNB seized more than 50 kilos of marijuana in Sucre and Zulia

The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) seized more than 50 kilos of marijuana found in the states of Sucre and Zulia.

During maritime patrol work in the La Esmeralda and Playa Manzanillo sectors, Ribero municipality, Sucre state, a group of unknown individuals, who were traveling in a B/P type boat, who, upon noticing the presence of the GNB, began to flee to the open sea, in which a chase later began, and their capture was unsuccessful; however, the commission proceeded to tour the area, where two bags containing them were found floating in its interior consists of 40 marijuana pots each, with a gross weight of forty-three and four hundred and seventy-five kilograms (43,475).

While the military corps seized 36 packages of marijuana in Zulia, weighing eleven and one hundred kilograms (11,100), hidden in the gas tank of the Mercury brand vehicle, Grand Marquis model, red color, license plate 11A0A7B.

The operation captured four citizens identified as: Víctor Alexander Sánchez Mato, holder of the identity card: V-19,551,623, Víctor Eduardo Araujo, holder of the identity card: V-32.417,756, Franklin Eduardo Henríquez Hernández, holder of the identity card: V-4,681,239 and Yeimar Carolina Castro Jiménez, holder of the identity card: V-28,498,273, coming from Maicao, Republic of Colombia, bound for Dabajuro, state Falcon.

Both cases were reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
