With the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, led by Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez Frías, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) resumed its libertarian, popular, anti-imperialist and anti-oligarchic vocation, said the Army's general commander, M/G Alfredo Murga Batista.

During the joint graduation ceremony in the different categories and became active reserve for the 1991 promotions of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the senior military officer explained that after the coming to power of the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez, the principle of monolithic unity between the different components of the FANB and civic-military union was redeemed as the cornerstone of the comprehensive defense of the nation.

On the other hand, Murga Batista recommended that recently graduated officers keep up with ongoing training on the use of new technologies to face threats against the Homeland.

“They must also continue to reflect on the confrontation that the peoples of the region are waging against the pretensions of North American imperialism and its allies to revive the anachronistic Monroe doctrine in an unsuccessful way,” he said.

In this regard, the senior military official denounced that imperialism continues to carry out forced regime actions against our country, with actions of soft power and hard power, with the intention of overthrowing President Nicolás Maduro.

“Faced with these scenarios, the firm determination of the FANB to maintain peace, the stability of the country, preserving its institutions, and its democratic system stands out,” he said.
