The president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, suppressed a mobilization of women food handlers from the National Board of School Assistance and Scholarships (JUNAEB), for demanding the payment of a deposit that they owe them for nine months, reported the VenezuelaNews portal.

More than five thousand women food handlers carried out a massive march that began in the center of Santiago de Chile, to the building of the National Directorate of JUNAEB, where the Carabineros sent by the government of Gabriel Boric, began repressive actions by dousing them, throwing gas at them and where several women were beaten by officers.

Regarding the activity, Patricia Díaz, one of the workers complained and denounced the way in which they received and treated them “they closed the door in our face”.

He pointed out that there were companions lying on the floor, with asthma and all wet, this referring to the repression suffered by cars throwing water from Carabineros.

He explained that the required settlement would be paid in two installments, while explaining that during a negotiation both parties (government and workers) agreed on the first deadline for July 20.

However, that payment did not occur and that is why in that month the food handlers carried out a first mobilization.

“Now we're leaving, because in the last negotiation they stopped paying us on Friday, August 30. It's been 72 hours and we haven't received the corresponding payment,” he said.
