The Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (FUNDACITE) in the state of Yaracuy held a workshop specialized in the use of free software QGIS, a geographical information technology intended for land management and the mapping of natural spaces.

The training, carried out over two days, was aimed at a team of park rangers attached to the National Park Institute (INPARQUES) in the entity, responsible for the protection and promotion of local natural heritage. Officials acquired knowledge about data recording and monitoring of environmental reserves, risk prevention and mitigation, and land management applied to conservation.

With this initiative, the National Government reaffirms its commitment to scientific development, environmental protection and inter-institutional training, by providing technological tools that strengthen the capacities of those responsible for caring for the state's parks and natural spaces.
