The judoka Anriquelis Barrios became the 28th Venezuelan to attend the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after placing 31st in the world ranking of the International Judo Federation.
“Venezuela is officially qualified for my second Olympic Games... From Guiana to Paris,” Barrios said on his Instagram account.
Barrios said she was
proud, full of great enthusiasm to be able to represent
our flag, our tricolor, “to all Venezuelans who
are in the world and in my country, I will do my best,” she said.
“After such a difficult year full of
obstacles, many injuries, 2 surgeries, slow
rehabilitation processes, we managed to overcome all that adversity in our
path, physically and mentally, we never gave up, we set ourselves a
goal and achieved the goal we always wanted with hard work,” said the athlete.
This will be the second Olympic event for Barrios, after participating in Tokyo 2020, where she ranked among the 10 best judokas and obtained an Olympic diploma.
