Frente Amplio de Uruguay leads elections with 45% intention to vote

The presidential candidate of the Broad Front, Yamandú Orsi, leads the intention to vote for the elections to be held this Sunday, October 27, with 45%, according to the Opción Consultores survey, according to the Telesur website.
The survey said that the candidate of the ruling National Party (center-right), Álvaro Delgado, will reach 24%, and the presidential candidate for the Colorado Party (center-right), Andrés Ojeda, 16%.
According to the poll on the intention to vote, the Open Council (right) and the Independent Party, members of the ruling center-right coalition, have 4% and 1%.
Meanwhile, the opposition Sovereign Identity made up 4%, other parties obtained 2% and another 4% marked the trends blank, annulled and indefinite.
Uruguay will hold the first round of its presidential elections this Sunday, the 27th, and the favorites, according to the polls, are Orsi, Delgado and Ojeda in elections where 11 candidates will participate.
In the event that none reaches 50% plus one of the valid votes, a second round will be held on November 24.
The 99 deputies and 30 senators who will be part of Parliament for the next five years are also voted and two plebiscites are held.
One of the plebiscites suggests changes in the retirement system and another on the likelihood that the police will carry out night searches, hitherto prohibited by the Constitution.
The next president of the nation will govern from March 1, 2025 for a period of five years.
