On January 5, 2020, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, inaugurated the La Guaira Baseball Stadium where he participated in a civic-military friendly between the Cabinet and the National Armed Forces (FANB).
“It's a powerful stadium in the town of La Guaira, the Forum de La Guaira. Powerful and beautiful for La Guaira. Gigantic stadium, the largest in Venezuela. We're here to inaugurate it,” said the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro.
This sports venue is one of the emblematic works built during the regional government of Jorge Luis García Carneiro, after his death, the name was changed in honor of this tireless revolutionary.
The current Jorge Luis García Carneiro Stadium has a capacity for 15,000 people, spaces for recreation and a food fair. In 2023, it was one of the venues of the Caribbean Series.
