Four Venezuelan players finalized in the MLB Silver Bate Award 2026

Four Venezuelan players are among the finalists for the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) Silver Bate award.

Willson Contreras and Wilyer Abreu compete in the American League, while Gabriel Moreno and Jackson Chourio do the same in the National League.

It should be noted that Chourio, Abreu and Moreno won the Golden Glove Award in their respective positions.

For his part, Contreras stands out as a finalist at first base after signing his best offensive season with an average of .275, OPS of .902 and 27 home runs, taking on the Orioles initialist, Pete Alonso.

The Silver Bat is awarded annually to the player with the most outstanding offensive performance in each position, taking into account one player for each league.

The election is in charge of the managers and coaches of the Major League, who must meet a key condition: they are not allowed to vote for players belonging to their own teams.

The official award ceremony will take place on November 17.
