Formed Technical Committee for the Standardization of People with Disabilities

The objective is to strengthen the country's standardization process with the creation of Technical Standardization Committees and Subcommittees

The Technical Committee for Standardization CT58 People with Disabilities was formed, which will ensure the well-being of this sector of society, to comply with the social protection policies of the Bolivarian Government.

The creation of this committee took place during a meeting that took place in person, in the Hugo Chávez Room, of the Deconcentrated Service for Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (SENCAMER), located at the headquarters of the Ministry of People's Power of National Trade.

This instance will have as its objective the study, revision and/or elaboration of national technical standards, as well as to adopt and adapt international, regional or national standards of other countries, as the case may be, the development of national standards such as: terminology, general procedures, methodologies and techniques, testing, product, service and other related aspects, with a focus on accessibility, inclusion, participation and improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities, considering principles of universal design, human rights and sustainability.

In this way, the country's standardization process is strengthened through the creation of Technical Standardization Committees and Subcommittees, which are part of the standardization subsystem within the quality infrastructure services provided by SENCAMER in the country.

The board of directors was established as follows: Soraida Ramírez, representative of the National Council for People with Disabilities (CONAPDIS), as president; Jennifer Salazar, representative of the Ministry of Popular Power for Education (MPPE) as vice-president and Margory Henríquez, representative of the NGO Asperger Foundation of Venezuela, as secretary.
