Foreign ministers of Mexico and Venezuela meet at the UN

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, held a meeting with his Mexican counterpart, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, for the purpose of reviewing economic, commercial and consular relations, a meeting that occurs in the preamble to the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.

“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we held a significant meeting with the Mexican Foreign Minister, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra. Our countries are firmly united in the defense of sovereignty, respect for internal affairs and the free self-determination of our peoples,” wrote the Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs on his Telegram account.
