The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs,
Yván Gil, received in his office this Friday the ambassador of the
Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Vu Trung My,
who extended his Government's congratulations to President Nicolás Maduro,
after his victory in the elections of last July 28.
The Vietnamese diplomat handed the Venezuelan Foreign Minister
a letter sent by the president of the Asian country Tô Lâm, confirming his
solidarity with the people of Venezuela and with the Bolivarian Government, in addition to
expressing his commitment to strengthening relations of brotherhood and cooperation between both nations.
In this context, through his X account, President
Maduro thanked the leader of Vietnam “for his good wishes on the occasion of the celebration
of Peace and Democracy on July 28. Rest assured that we will continue to
strengthen relations of cooperation and solidarity for the well-being of
our peoples,” he emphasized.
In the letter, President Tô Lâm highlights his conviction
that the Government of Venezuela and the Head of State “will continue to achieve
greater achievements in the construction and defense of the country, for the well-being of the
people as desired by President Hugo Chávez.”
“The State and people of Vietnam reaffirm their efforts to
expand and further deepen our ties of friendship, solidarity and
comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela, for the benefit of our two peoples,
for peace, stability, cooperation and progress in both regions and in the
world,” the text states.
