The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, honored Cuban hero José Martí in Havana this Wednesday, to begin his official visit to the Republic of Cuba, as part of the strengthening of brotherly relations between the two nations.

After his arrival in the Caribbean Island, leading the Venezuelan delegation, Foreign Minister Gil made a floral offering before the Martí monument, located in the historic Plaza de la Revolución.

During his stay in Cuba, the Venezuelan diplomat will meet with his counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla to review cooperation agreements and strategic alliances between the two countries.

Cuba's national hero, a genuine admirer of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, established close supportive relations with Venezuela for the cause of his country's liberation. His historical legacy is still remembered and evoked in different parts of the world.

The unbreakable friendship between the two nations was strengthened by Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, who laid the foundations for the construction of a regional relationship based on solidarity and mutual respect.
