The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, participated this Monday in an activity commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Foundation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

From Kampala, the capital of Uganda, where he is participating in the 3rd Southern Summit of Heads of State and Government of the G77 and China, Foreign Minister Gil joined other of his counterparts present at the international event, led by the Bolivian Foreign Minister, Celinda Sosa Lunda, to celebrate such an important date.

Through his account on the social network X, the Venezuelan diplomat stressed that the Plurinational State of Bolivia “continues to be an example and symbol of diversity, unity and respect for different cultures and traditions that coexist in harmony. It's a reminder that inclusion and equality are fundamental to progress and peaceful coexistence.”

On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the people of Venezuela, he congratulated “the brother Bolivian people on this historic date and the enormous progress achieved since then.”

On January 22, 2009, under the mandate of the indigenous leader and then president of the Andean country, Evo Morales, Bolivia ceased to be a republic and became a new form of nation, known as the Plurinational State, capable of including its 36 indigenous peoples with whom 41% of the population is related, according to the 2012 census.
