Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso honors Liberator Simon Bolivar in Caracas

Regarding his official visit to Venezuela, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Burkinabe Foreign Affairs of Burkina Faso, Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, presided over a wreath-giving ceremony before the sarcophagus that holds the mortal remains of the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar, in Caracas.

The solemn ceremony took place in the Mausoleum of the Liberator, in the National Pantheon, and was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Africa, the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yuri Pimentel , and representatives of the Burkinabe diplomatic corps accredited in the country.

The visit of the African Foreign Minister responds to the celebration of the 1st Meeting of the Venezuela-Burkina Faso Joint Commission, which seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation in strategic areas for the development of both peoples.

The day before, the First Meeting of the Joint Commission was held, which is expected to conclude this Wednesday with the signing of the agreements reached by the technical commissions, in areas of mutual interest and mutual benefits.

During the installation, the Foreign Minister of Burkina Faso and his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil, reiterated their commitment to strengthening the good relationship of friendship and cooperation, and to advance South-South cooperation, to reach new agreements that promote the prosperity of their nations.

Karamoko Jean Marie Traore's work agenda also included a meeting with the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, and other authorities of the Venezuelan State, in order to expand and deepen cooperation in strategic sectors.
