The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs,
Yván Gil, warned the European Union (EU) this Tuesday that Venezuela will make “
important decisions” regarding its relationship with the bloc, given the multiple
actions of interference in the country's internal affairs.
Regarding an EU statement on the
arrest of conspirators associated with opposition extremism, Foreign Minister Gil
stated that Venezuela “will not allow the discredited bloc to continue
trying to resort to its failed neocolonial actions against a sovereign country.”
“The EU, the same one that supported the Guaidó farce, which has
disrespected our institutionality and violated all the principles of international
law, following Washington's foreign policy,
is once again plunging into the mud of interventionism, once again entering a
dead end,” the Venezuelan diplomat criticized through his account on the social network X.
The European bloc referred specifically to Dignora
Hernández, political coordinator of the campaign of the disqualified María Corina
Machado, and Henry Alviarez, national coordinator of Vente Venezuela,
involved in assassination plans recently revealed by the Attorney General's Office.
