The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, highlighted the actions of the representatives of Venezuela before the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN), to reject the misleading report prepared by the failed Lima Group.

In his account on the social network Telegram, Gil stated that “in response to the misleading and regrettable report prepared by the failed Lima Group, Venezuela presented itself to the UN Human Rights Council to reject the gross attempt to exploit human rights in order to undermine the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people and strengthen the fascist right.”

“Our country has a solid system of social protection and a humanist and socialist project that will continue to advance, despite the aggressions of global fascist tyranny,” he stressed.

In this message, Gil referred to the intervention of the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the UN-Geneva, Alexander Yánez, who questioned the acceptance by the Human Rights Council of a “ridiculous pamphlet” written by the former and failed Lima Group, in “compliance with Washington's orders, to promote regime change by the legitimate government of Venezuela”.

During his speech at the 20th Meeting - 57th Regular Session of the Human Rights Council, Yánez emphasized that the acceptance of this report is “erratic”, since it “is not only vulgar, but it seeks to impose on the United Nations the narrative of the fascist right”.
