The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, urged the Government of the United States (USA) this Thursday to desist from its attempts to sabotage Venezuelan institutions.

In response to the statement of the State Department spokesman, Matthew Miller, regarding the decision of the National Electoral Council (CNE) to withdraw the invitation to the European Union observer mission for the presidential elections on July 28, Foreign Minister Gil stated that Venezuela is a free and sovereign country.

Mr. Miller may be used to giving instructions to the European Union, but our country has been free and sovereign for more than 200 years. Bolivarian democracy is solid and exemplary, we could teach the United States a lot to hold truly free elections,” said the Venezuelan diplomat in his X account.

He added that the Venezuelan Electoral Power “has spoken with force and will not allow the disrespect of any Washington satellite organization.”

In this regard, he stressed that “it is time for the United States to desist from its constant attempts to sabotage our country and our institutions. Surnames that seek guardianship in Venezuela will not return!” , he emphasized.
