The diversity of Venezuelan products recognized for their quality and
origin was brought together in the exhibition “Footprint of Origin”, which presents 18 quality
seals in the exhibition hall of the Autonomous Intellectual
Property Service (SAPI), in Caracas.
The exhibition brings together products with Controlled Denomination of Origin (DOC) and Protected Geographic Indication (PGI) from different states of the country, and some of the products include Cocuy Larense, cacao from Carenero, Caripito, Choroní, Patanemo and Barinas, as well as coffees from Boconó, Mérida, Miranda and Lara.
Also part of the exhibition are Margariteño Chili,
Kavitepuy Gran Sabana Honey, Yaracuy Avocado, Táchira Bread and Lara
Goat Cheese, products linked to traditions and characteristics specific to their production areas.
The “Footprint of Origin” seal identifies products that have a DOC or IGP
declaration granted by the SAPI and allows us to recognize aspects such as
their quality, geographical origin, reputation and tradition.
The exhibition seeks to bring these products closer to the public and highlight the importance of protecting indigenous assets through intellectual property mechanisms that recognize their origin and particular characteristics.
