Food Subcommittee frames work agenda in Q7

The Subcommittee on Food and Nutrition, of the Standing Committee on Integral Social Development, will frame its 2024 work agenda in Plan 7T, raising awareness of health care and healthy nutrition.

This was reported this Monday by the president of the instance, deputy Gabriela Chacón Pérez (PSUV/Miranda), who during the installation of the subcommission stressed the importance of thoroughly evaluating the lines of work instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during his message to the nation on January 15, in order to work closely with them.

The parliamentarian considers it valuable to start this work in the country's various educational institutions, hand in hand with an agri-food entrepreneurship fair, this being the first impactful activity of the subcommission to promote the consumption of healthy, safe and sovereign food.

He said that they also plan to promote the Law for Innovation, Promotion and Development of Family Farming, as well as the Nutrition Act, and the incorporation for joint work with the Superior General Staff of Food.

Chacón, who was ratified as president of this subcommittee, explained that the deputy Gisela Tovar (PPT/Yaracuy), as first vice-president; and the deputy Juan Simón Primera (PSUV/Nacional), as second vice-president, will continue to be part of the body.
