On Tuesday night, the physical match of the glory of the national sport, Francisco “Morochito” Rodríguez, boxing legend who gave the first Olympic gold to the Fatherland, was reported.

Francisco “Morochito” Rodríguez was a professional boxer born on September 20, 1945 in Cumaná, Sucre state. At the age of 11, he took his first steps in that sport.

He achieved the feat of giving the country the first gold medal on October 26, 1968, in the flyweight category, during the Olympic Games in Mexico, after defeating South Korean Yong-Ju Jee.
