First National Popular Consultation 2025 is communal democracy in action (+details)

The National Popular Consultation is a democratic exercise that currently involves more than 5,300 communes and communal circuits throughout the Venezuelan territory. This exercise of radical and communal democracy demonstrates the deep political awareness of a People that exposes its collective will under the principle of “only the People save the People”.

This Sunday, February 2, the first National Popular Consultation of 2025 will take place, in which all Venezuelans are called to decide on priority projects in their communities.

In 2024, a total of 9,183 projects were funded during the two national consultations, which became key problem-solving tools. These projects covered various areas, including:

2,259 projects in comprehensive water management, 213,189 road projects, 21,239 projects in housing care, 1,153 electricity projects, 873 projects in education, 798 projects in health.

The National Popular Consultation is a clear example of participatory and leading democracy, where the People have the opportunity to decide and manage the projects that most impact their well-being and development.
