The always losing candidate of the opposition, Henrique Capriles Radonsky, resigned from the national leadership of the First Justice party for refusing to be “the leader of someone or a small group, also divorced from the reality of Venezuelans”.
Through a letter published in his X account, Capriles assured that PJ's management has fallen into practices in which “a small bud” imposes his interests and issues messages that respond to his agenda, “who, together with his collaborators, believes himself master and master of an organization that belongs to the militancy and political life of the country.”
In this sense, he took it against the fugitive from Venezuelan justice, Julio Borges, whom he accused of paying on social networks and “news portals” to attack his own colleagues on the right.
“I must mention that in the face of all the baseness to which some members of First Justice have been exposed, by Mr. Julio Borges, who manages party communications giving priority to their private interests and who also has a long history of using paid networks and portals to attack and discredit, even members of this party and the Venezuelan democratic opposition,” he said.
Also, in his farewell letter, Capriles criticized the “lack of transparency and accountability of managers”.
“Today, the National Board of Directors does not have a clear plan or a solid political proposal that opens democratic paths for the country in times of such turmoil and uncertainty. Inertia will never be the solution. More after the presidential election of July 28, 2024,” he acknowledged.
In the same way, faithful to his coup traditions, Capriles invited his former running mates, “concerned about the internal situation, to continue in the search for leadership that will guide them with greatness, humility and detachment. Putting aside meanness, sectarianism and working for true unity to meet all.”
