As part of the commemorative activities for the National Day of Craftsmen and Craftsmen, the Productive and Cultural Knowledge Fair 2025 was held in Simón Bolívar Square, in which artisans and entrepreneurs from the municipalities participated; Simón Bolívar, Independencia, Urdaneta and Paz Castillo.
Richard Mendoza, of the Artisan Heart movement, celebrated this type of initiative, since it succeeded in projecting Paz Castillo's productive capacity, “framed in the Operational Plan to promote culture under the guidance of Governor Elio Serrano and Mayor Víctor Julio González.”
During the activity, attendees found a wide variety of traditional handicrafts, such as rag dolls, textile creations and crafts, as well as modern decorative proposals and Creole confectionery.
For his part, the director of Culture of the jurisdiction, Marcos Correa, took a tour of the spaces of the fair to learn more about the experiences of artisans and entrepreneurs as transformative agents of the communal economy. There she shared with women entrepreneurs, such as Zoraida Pérez, a weaver who teaches her trade to young people at the San Benito Cultural Center.
