Faria: Monument to La Chinita will be inspired by the tablet found in Lake Maracaibo

The winning proposal of the Ideas Competition for the Monument to La Chinita was the one made by the team “Architects for La Chinita”, said the president of the Great Venezuela Bella Mission, Jacqueline Faria, through her account on the social network X.

When referring to the selection, he indicated that the first place: “Monument to La Chinita” by the Architects team for La Chinita. This is the proposal that will be implemented. In second place: “A Divine Embrace” by the Jomaraga team and Third, it was: “Nuestra Chinita” by Crearte Producciones.

He specified that the project presented is a monument that will be 52 meters high and is inspired by the tablet that, according to legend, the old woman picked up on the waves of Lake Maracaibo and that had the image of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá.

He pointed out that it has a base of 55 meters in diameter by 6 meters in height, where there will be a Museum of Zulianity and a Monumental Staircase.

“It will be oriented to the south-east (overlooking the lake) and will be integrated and rooted in the Ana María Campos Park, with wide tree-lined paths to create an ideal climate for visitors, and original designs from Zulia such as the Guajiro tapestry, creating 3 places: one main and two secondary,” he explained.

Regarding the selection process, Faria noted that in the ideas contest organized by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, there were 24 participating, group and individual proposals.

The selection was made by El Pueblo through social networks, with the participation of more than 26,000 people, and by an integrated jury of specialists. “After the evaluation and deliberation of the jury, as well as the counting of votes on social networks, we have a winning proposal and two special mentions,” he said.
