FANB rejects the opposition's claim to carry out destabilizing actions in the face of 28J

The letter, published in the
X account of the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino
López, highlights that “it is not strange that this
radical opposition sector is once again turning to the script of violence; it is enough to recall extremist
events of recent years in which its participation was reliably demonstrated.
Now they are once again showing their anti-democratic side
precisely on the eve of an election day, which they seek to take advantage of
to hide their true fascist face”.

The Bolivarian National Armed Forces strongly rejects the nefarious pretensions of the Venezuelan extreme right, made public knowledge by a group of paramilitaries called Self-Defense Conquerors of the Sierra Nevada, which operates illegally in the sister Republic of Colombia. Such intentions involve acts of sabotage of the infrastructure of national basic services; attacks on the physical integrity of the citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros, Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, our Commander in Chief; undermining the stability of the legitimately constituted system of government; in addition to terrorist actions to be carried out in border states. All of the above would be intended to generate a sense of civil war in our country, at the time of arguing fraud in the current elections of July 28.
It is not at all strange that this radical opposition sector is once again turning to the script of violence; it is enough to recall extremist events of recent years in which its participation was reliably demonstrated. Now they are once again showing their anti-democratic side precisely on the eve of an election day, which they seek to take advantage of to hide their true fascist face. It should be noted that in their infamous interests, they have always had the advice and collaboration of agencies of the North American government, which does not rest on their perverse ambitions to put an end to the Bolivarian project through the well-known pattern of “forced regime change”.
However, each of these events has been met with the firm and decisive position of the Venezuelan people and their Armed Forces, who, in perfect civic-military fusion, have been able to respond without hesitation, with patriotism, dignity and self-determination.
The FANB reiterates its irreducible
commitment to remain faithful to its democratic traditions. In this regard, Operation Republic Presidential Elections
2024 has
already been launched, in which, as it has historically done, the free
exercise of voting by all citizens, their security, that of voting
centers and electoral material will be guaranteed. We will not tolerate acts of
any nature that threaten the normal development of this process, and
we will act decisively within the framework of the Constitution and laws,
as well as the humanist character that characterizes us, in order to guarantee the
Venezuelan people their peace and democracy. We will remain alert to
destabilizing plans and we will ensure, at all costs, the comprehensive defense of our beloved nation.
