The Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, GJ. Vladímir Padrino López, led this weekend the deployment of a social day of the Great Black First Mission, installed at the “El Libertador” Air Base (BAEL), located in the state of Aragua, where equipment and supplies were provided to increase the operational capacity of military units.

This day was held to ensure the well-being of the military family, as ordered by the Commander in Chief, Nicolás Maduro Moros, in the first strategic line oriented to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). It was also carried out with the arrival of the 104th anniversary of Bolivarian Military Aviation (AMB) and the 46th anniversary of the Integral Aerospace Defense Command (CODAI).

Accompanied by the Military High Command, the Minister of Popular Power for Defense, said: “We have come here with the Great Black Mission First to provide supplies and welfare with everything military units require - more than 100.” In addition, during this day of social care, medical aid was granted for the treatment of oncological and cardiovascular diseases and hemodialysis treatments, as well as socio-economic aid for the improvements of infrastructure and buildings owned by military personnel. The General Directorate of Health was also provided with medical equipment.

It should be noted that 36 vehicles were recovered from the AMB and CODAI fleet, also highlighting the certificates of supply of supplies they received to increase the operational capacity of their military units.

At the site, the General in Chief reviewed the facilities of the said military base and, upon verifying their optimal conditions, stated that despite the blockade and criminal sanctions imposed by the North American empire against the country, he highlighted the efforts for the welfare of military personnel, so he assured that “we are going to emerge victorious, Hidalgos, with our heads raised to the horizon, so trust fully in what we are doing”.

During the activity, the highest authority of the country's military institution, in the context of the upcoming anniversaries of the AMB Component and the CODAI, awarded Officers with the National Defense Order in rank Caballero.

He also won the Colonela Manuela Sáenz and Distinguished Services medals of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, in addition to recognizing non-military personnel with the seniority button in his first and second classes.

Regarding the AMB and the CODAI, the Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty expressed his satisfaction with their integration and cohesion to respond to aggressions against the Homeland.

He also added that the FANB is “something so sublime for the Fatherland” and asserted that it constitutes that fundamental pillar, “the great column of the Fatherland so that the Fatherland lives in peace, remains sovereign, with territorial and independent integrity”, as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Thus, the Chief General, Vladímir Padrino López, stressed that the FANB is acting at all levels to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, so he reported on the recent seizure of more than five tons of marijuana in the state of Amazonas that intended to be distributed in the national territory.

“So we have to keep working hard to maintain our operational readiness,” he said.
