FANB has destroyed more than 80 mining ponds so far in 2024

So far in 2024, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) has destroyed more than 80 rafts used for illegal mining in river areas, said the strategic operational commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.
The senior military official explained that these vessels have been detected and destroyed in the rivers of the states of Amazonas and Bolívar.
“Environmental protection is a citizen's duty. The root of the problem is not limited to disabling and destroying, the fundamental thing is the awareness of citizens not to transgress the rules, not because they are commanded, but because protection results in the well-being and survival of man and the environment,” he said.
