FANB dismantled mining camp in the Pollo Duro sector of Amazonas

The FANB continues its fight against illegal mining

During patrolling and scrutiny in the sector called Pollo Duro, in the state of Amazonas, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) dismantled an illegal mining camp.

This was reported by the strategic operational commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, who pointed out that the space was detected and destroyed: a 4-cylinder diesel engine; a motorcycle; 50 meters of high-pressure hose; five plastic containers for fuel storage; three 13.5 HP motor pumps; three 2500 watt power plants; a satellite internet equipment (Starlink); a television system satellite (Directv); a 1000 Amp battery; an electricity converter; a battery charger; two point-to-point radios with their charger; a welding machine; 100 kilos of food; several spare parts for motors and pumps; a freezer; three smartphones.

“In the state of Amazonas, according to our territorial legal system, mining and hydrocarbon exploitation is totally prohibited, and the conservation of the environment is a citizen's duty,” said the senior military official.
