Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) arrested 6 citizens dedicated to illegal mining in the state of Amazonas, according to the strategic operational commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.

Through a message posted on his Instagram account, the senior military officer explained that the detainees, 5 Colombians and one Venezuelan, were detected by uniformed personnel while carrying out patrol work through the Mata de Palma sector, in the areas surrounding the Indigenous Community of Carida, Atabapo municipality of the said entity.

At the time of the capture, two motor bombs were seized from these people; 2 Tamen carpets used for the collection of gold material; ten meters of 8-inch hose; a 16mm shotgun, with no visible serials; an electrical plant, which were used for the predation of the environment.

The detainees were placed under the command of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
