The Public Security Agencies (CSOs) and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), working together, managed to seize nearly 5 tons of marijuana in the state of Amazonas, reported the National Anti-Drug Superintendent (SUNAD), M/G Danny Ferrer Sandrea.

Ferrer Sandre a, according to a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, explained that the uniformed personnel detected, in the Caño Caname sector, of the Atabapo municipality of the said entity, 162 bags containing more than 4,800 wrappers of the mentioned drug.

He also explained that in this action, framed in Operation Mist, the Strategic Integral Defense Region (REDI) Guiana, the Amazon Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) participated, personnel attached to the Anti-Drug Command and the Zone Command of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the Rapid Reaction Units (URRA) of Combat of Anzoátegui and Carabobo , accompanied by prosecutors from the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The highest authority of SUNAD affirmed that Venezuela remains strong and unwavering in the fight against the scourge of drugs. “For 2025, we are repowered and with the clear mission of continuing to bring together the efforts of all security organs hand in hand with popular power, to guarantee a happy, safe and drug-free territory,” he said.
