The Standing Committee on Families, Freedom of Religion
and Worship, is working on the drafting of the Organic Bill for
Equal Rights of Women and Men, as announced by the first
vice-president of the body, Deputy Leonardo Montezuma (PSUV/Miranda), this Wednesday.
The
parliamentarian stressed the importance of the discussion of this bill
because it seeks to guarantee and promote gender parity, in which there is
the participation and representation of women and men in all spheres of
life.
In
this regard, she explained that the objective of this project is to materialize and
deepen those rights, which have not yet been developed and which give women full
equality for the exercise of their daily lives, she said.
Other
points addressed at the regular meeting was the analysis of the decree of
the Great Mission of Amor Mayor Venezuela, dated December 13, 2011,
by the Subcommission on the Human Dignity and Autonomy of
Older Persons.
At
other points, the commission also evaluated the desecration of the monument of The
Liberator Simon Bolivar on the Sacred Mount in Rome, Italy; a fact that was
described as fascist against the independence hero.
Finally, Montezuma stated that the parliamentary body will continue to build and develop the work framed in Plan 7T, and other strategic lines oriented, in all areas, to the protection of the Venezuelan people.
