The Ezequiel Zamora Railway System, in the Caracas-Cúa section, began operations on October 15, 2006; this inauguration was in the hands of Commander Hugo Chávez, which marked a milestone in Venezuelan railway history, specifically in the Valles del Tuy, Miranda state.

This system started with 13 trains, with four wagons, whose transport capacity is 922 people each. This large project reduced the trip from the Valles del Tuy to Caracas and vice versa from two hours to 31 minutes.

The railway covers two 93-kilometer-long railways that rest on 160,000 sleepers and are stabilized thanks to 250,000 cubic meters of ballast stone. It has four stations: La Rinconada, in Caracas (Libertador Simón Bolívar); Charallave Norte (Francisco de Miranda), Charallave Sur (Simón Rodríguez) and Cúa (General Ezequiel Zamora).

It is important to highlight that this system has the longest railway tunnel in Latin America, called Tazón, which is six kilometers long, 905 meters. 1,530 workers worked on its construction.

The Bolivarian Government for the implementation of the Ezequiel Zamora Railway System, a work that benefits an axis of six municipalities, where more than 768,000 people live.
