The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that on April 24 and 27, the Agro Expo of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) will be held in Caracas, to strengthen the economic and joint development matrix.

In this regard, during the 25th Meeting of the Political Council of ALBA-TCP, he emphasized that the countries of the block have set out to produce food together for the integral well-being of their peoples.

“We have the land, climate, water and the good experience gained, one country more than the other, and we have already designed the way in which Agroalba should work, as a great food production agreement,” he said, adding that if everything comes to fruition, “very soon we will have rice, beans, chicken, eggs, food produced together for our peoples.”

He reaffirmed that for this purpose “productive union is necessary, because we are talking about a union to produce, to supply with quality (...) for the work of harmonious and shared economic development in our countries”.

In the same way, he reported that from April 24 to 27, there will also be “a meeting with the ministers of economy, agriculture, fisheries and trade to discuss what has to do with the economy, to continue to pave the way and to continue to advance in all fields of the development of our countries”.

“We have to create our own sovereign response, which generates in a multidimensional way, someone would say, the different dimensions of true independence in the exercise of countries; that is why the legacy, the proclamation of a Fidel, of a Chávez is always present (...) Let's not expect anything from anyone but from ourselves, let's give strong answers based on our daily efforts,” he said.
