On May 7, 1919, Eva María Duarte de Perón was born in the town of Junín, a leader of strength and unyielding passion who dedicated her life to the fight for the cause of the Argentine people, becoming the “Spiritual Chief” of this nation that rises up in the heat of the battle against ignominy.

From a humble origin, from a very young age, “Evita” dedicated herself to the study of the arts, where she achieved important awards for her interpretive quality. This intense public activity gave her the opportunity to meet the military leader and defender of the causes of the humble, Juan Domingo Perón, whom she married, and then became the first woman to actively participate in an electoral campaign.

Her leadership role allowed her to promote the women's vote she achieved in 1947 and the legal equality of spouses and the shared parental authority that took place in 1949, among other actions that earned her countless awards from the feminist force of the southern nation, as well as from the trade union movements that in 1951, proposed her as a candidate for the vice-presidency, which she resigned due to internal pressure from Peronism.

This vertiginous rise of Evita is frustrated by an early death caused by uterine cancer, which at the age of 33 closed the eyes of this distinguished Latin American fighter who today, 100 years after her birth, illuminates from the top the struggles of a nation that is still fighting to achieve that homeland to which this beautiful southern lady dedicated her life.

“I know that you will pick up my name and carry it as a flag to victory.”
