The president of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip
Erdoğan, condemned this Tuesday that the United Nations (UN) in recent
years “has not fulfilled its mission and has become a dysfunctional organism”.
In this regard, during his speech at the
79th Session of the General Assembly of the United
Nations (UN), which is being held in New York, United States, he questioned how
the State of Israel and its allies “have destroyed the Charter of the United
Nations from this very platform, they have shamelessly challenged everyone
from this very platform”.
Erdogan denounced the attack that Palestinians are still receiving in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, he described as barbaric the
transformation of prisons into concentration camps for these and the
more than 17,000 children who have been unjustifiably targeted by Israeli bombs.
“Gaza has become a large cemetery (...) in the Gaza tragedy, 41,000 Palestinians have died, 41,000 lives, people, women and children, have been killed and no one knows where more than 10,000 people are,” he said, stressing that international justice “cannot be left in the hands of five privileged member states of the Security Council.”
