Born on July 11, 1930, in the town of El Yagual, Apure, Eneas Perdomo Carrillo, was a prominent Venezuelan singer, composer and cultor, a man who dedicated his prose to the immensity and beauty of the Venezuelan plain, a land that witnessed the ferocity and gallantry of a people.

Perdomo collected more than 40 albums, where he recorded immortal melodies such as “Party in Elorza”, “Las Queseras del Medio”, “Fisherman of the Apure River”, “Holy Week in Achaguas”, “Adiós Barrancas de Arauca”, “Palmaritales de Arauca”, “Caminos de San Fernando”, “Flor Sabanera”, among others.

A great friend of Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez, this singer from the plain was a source of inspiration for the love for the Fatherland that always accompanied the eternal leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, who named Eneas “the General in Chief of Venezuelan singing”.

On February 25, 2011, he set off to immortality, leaving an indelible mark on the country.

The Venezuelan people honor the memory of those who live today in every inch of the plain, echoing with their song to the beauty of this land that was born for Freedom.
