Today, from Madrid, Edmundo González gave an interview to Reuters that reveals his betrayal and cowardice. While he enjoyed whiskey for 12 years at the Spanish Embassy in Caracas, he negotiated his exit behind the backs of those who supported him, abandoning his supporters and political colleagues. Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly, showed convincing evidence: a letter signed by Edmundo, in which he recognizes the judgment of the Supreme Court of Justice, without any kind of coercion. Quite the contrary, Edmundo was desperate to flee and negotiate for his own well-being.

Instead of worrying about the so-called “political prisoners” he mentioned so much, he focused his attention solely on ensuring the protection of his family and assets. While his opposition colleagues, such as María Corina Machado, knew nothing about his plans, he had it all figured out. She only informed María Corina when everything was ready, leaving her and the others as fools.

To top it off, in the interview, when asked about the sanctions, he once again demonstrated his cowardice. He tried to avoid the topic, but under pressure, he admitted his support for any mechanism of pressure, revealing his true fascist face.
Once again, the Venezuelan extreme right betrays the few unwary opponents who believed in them. As was the case with Leopoldo López and Juan Guaidó, Edmundo González ran away from the country with his pockets full, ensuring his own well-being while his followers were abandoned and deceived. History repeats itself: they flee like rats, leaving their people behind without remorse.
