Ecuador: Public Prosecutor's Office Investigates Alleged Corruption Network

This Tuesday, Ecuadorian agents and police arrived at several PetroEcuador buildings in three provinces of the country as part of an operation against a corruption network, the Attorney General's Office reported.

The Prosecutor's Office explained that those investigated are former officials, who would be part of a criminal structure that would have carried out unusual financial transactions, that would have carried out unusual and unjustified financial transactions in the amount of 1.9 million dollars.

The operation, according to the public prosecutor's office, was carried out in order to gather evidence about an alleged internal corruption network in PetroEcuador. The four searches were carried out in offices and homes.
