Just days before around 13.7 million Ecuadorians go to the polls this April 13 to elect the person to assume the country's presidency, the candidate for the opposition Citizen Revolution (RC) party, Luisa González, is positioned as the favorite in the polls.

In a survey conducted by the polling firm Business and Strategies, González, a representative of the Citizens' Revolution movement, leads the intention to vote with 51.45 percent.

This result places her three points ahead of her rival, President Daniel Noboa, who has 48.6 percent support.

The survey, which covered 3,000 questionnaires, reflects significant support for the RC candidate, who recently signed an agreement with the indigenous Pachakutik movement, the country's third political force

In the first round of elections, both candidates obtained very close results: Noboa obtained 44.17 percent of the votes, while González obtained 43.97 percent, with a difference of just 19,756 votes. This context has intensified the campaign of both candidates, who have until April 10 to convince undecided voters.
